The LeiSHield-MATI kick-off meeting started with a welcome address by Hechmi Louzir, Director of Institut Pasteur de Tunis, followed by a brief project overview by Gerald Spaeth, Scientific Coordinator of the project at Institut Pasteur (Paris).
All WP leaders presented the objectives of their respective work packages, as well as the identified tasks/sub-tasks. Each local coordinator then briefly introduced themselves, the staff who will participate to the project and presented their involvement in the project.
Focus was also placed on the expected deliverables and milestones.
The third day was dedicated to project preparation and project management training, this workshop was organized by the Grants office of Institut Pasteur (Paris). The presentation focused on how to write a competitive proposal (scientific writing), highlighting the chances of success followed with working groups for a case study of a proposal preparation. This workshop ended with a presentation on national grants strategy - management of a major national grant (Labex case study).
A visit of the Institut Pasteur de Tunis was also organized during the kick-off meeting.
